John started in the motorcycle industry, while attending UGA, during his junior year. A long time mentor who previously owned a Chrysler/Plymoth dealer, decided to open a Kawasaki dealership in Mabelton, GA, and asked John to come aboard. John eagrly hopped on his 1951 Harley Davidson Pan Head, left Athens, and made his way back home for his Dream Job! Athough, his Harley only made it to Roswell, before it broke down! Starting out as a tech at Kawasaki City, John eventually moved through the Parts department and then Sales, making the dealer #1 in the country during their first year in 1971. The new dealership kept the number one title for the next three years. In 1974, John graduated college, looking to stay in the motorcycle industry with the goal of owning his own dealership.
