ABOUT THE OWNERS
John Feckoury started in the motorcycle industry, while attending UGA, during his junior year. A long time mentor who previously owned a Chrysler/Plymouth dealer, decided to open a Kawasaki dealership in Mabelton, GA, and asked John to come aboard. John eagerly hopped on his 1951 Harley-Davidson® Pan Head, left Athens, and made his way back home for his Dream Job! Athough his Harley® only made it to Roswell before it broke down!

Starting out as a tech at Kawasaki City, John eventually moved through the Parts department and then Sales. They became the #1 dealer in the country during their first year in 1971. The new dealership kept the number one title for the next three years.
In 1974, John graduated college, looking to stay in the motorcycle industry with the goal of owning his own dealership.
In 1978, he moved to Birmingham, to help out another dealer in need, while simultaneously starting his road racing career. He brought home 2 National Championships and 3 other Top 5 in WERA's Championship Series.
In 1979, John moved back closer to home and helped open Honda of Cartersville. By the end of the first year they were named 'Fastest Growing Dealership in America'.
John stayed in Cartersville until 1987, which enabled him to obtain his dream of owning his first dealership Cycle City of Newnan. The dealership started with Honda® and Yamaha, and quickly grew to add Kawasaki, and Indian Motorcycle®. In 1999 they out grew themselves causing them to move to a bigger location.
John sold off Cycle City in 2004, signing a 10-year non-compete agreement while doing so.
Finding himself needing to scratch his motorcycle itch, he returned first as a salesman at Freewheeling Powersports in 2015. By March 2016, he teamed up with GM Ricky Patterson and started through the sale process.
On November 1st 2016, John and Ricky became the new owners of Freewheeling Powersports.
Ricky got his start in the motorcycle industry in 1985. In high school, his automotive teacher told him to call John Feckoury at Honda of Cartersville. He started with a few hours a week as a porter, taking out the trash and cleaning the shop. Ricky moved throughout the shop becoming a technician, working within the parts department, as a service writer, then back to parts.
In 1987, Ricky began his racing career drag racing his Honda CB750K. He moved on to winning a track championship in 1993.

In 1997 he received a phone call from Jim Brannon, the former owner of Freewheelin' Honda, offering him a position as Parts Manager.
In 1999, Ricky retired from racing, after a skull fracturing spill.
In 2003, he moved into the roll of GM at Freewheeling, where he has been ever since.
One long night in 2005. Ricky decided to come out of retirement to race one last time. In efforts to win a Wally, Ricky waited out the rain until 4:30am. This was the last night of racing that Dallas, GA would see.
As mentioned in John's bio above, Ricky is now co-owner and GM of Freewheeling Powersports.
